Barwon Water in Victoria has implemented a mobile phone based system to assist farmers in Larpent and Irrewarra to improve their access to water use data collected by its Taggle radio network. Developed by Barwon Water’s Information and Communications Technology team, the system “will send a text message to Taggle participants when the transmitter has detected a minimum flow of 200 litres an hour for more than 48 hours” according to Mr Carl Bicknell, Strategy & Planning General Manager, speaking to the Colac Herald.
